The US Open is the fourth and final tennis event comprising the Grand Slam each year. It starts the last Monday in August and lasts for two weeks into September. The main tournament consists of five events: men’s and women’s singles, men’s and women’s doubles, and mixed doubles, with additional tournaments for senior, junior, and wheelchair players.
This championship tennis event has occurred at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center every year since 1978. Outside of the tournament, the center is open for public play and features 22 courts in its own 46.5 acres as well as 11 in the adjoining park.
